Full-Time & Part-Time Shuttle Driver Positions Available 

A CDL is preferred, but not required for this position.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region (RMHC Philly) – the world’s first Ronald McDonald House – is seeking friendly and dependable Full-Time and Part-Time Shuttle Van Drivers to transport our guest families to and from the hospital to visit their children each day.      

The Shuttle Van Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of families in passenger vans, providing superior customer service to each passenger while maintaining a positive attitude and professional appearance.    

Training is provided and will include RMHC Philly orientation, Van Driver training class and behind the wheel test, continuous learning through on-the-job experience and refresher training as needed.  

Flexible shifts are available within van operating hours of 5:30 am to midnight. The ability to work days, nights, weekends and/or holidays is required. 

Essential Duties:  

  • Welcome each family with a smile and willingness to serve 
  • Transport guest families between the Chestnut Street House and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia campus 
  • Provide courier services between RMHC Philly locations or vendor sites as assigned  
  • Operate passenger vans/shuttles safely and efficiently  
  • Provide information, directions and assistance as requested
  • Treat all passengers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner  
  • Follow scheduled times and designated routes and/or respond to requests from the House Manager on Duty for unscheduled pick-ups or drop-offs  
  • Open doors and assist passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle  
  • Ensure appropriate child safety seats are installed and utilized by all children  
  • Report accidents, safety situations, vehicle condition, or damage to the House Manager on Duty  
  • Complete Driver Vehicle Inspection report (DVIR)  
  • Accurately complete required paperwork following each shift  
  • Perform minor vehicle maintenance including refueling and cleaning 

Qualifications:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Must be 21 years of age or older  
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Clean driving record indicated by motor vehicle report (MVR) requested by RMHC Philly

  • Moderate sedentary work. Frequently required to sit and spend moderate amount of time behind the wheel.
  • Must be willing and able to travel between CHOP, RMHC Philadelphia locations and other regional locations using company vehicle
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel; talk or hear.
  • Must be physically capable of carrying up to 15 lbs.

Hourly Pay Rate: $20
