Chestnut Street House Amenities
The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House at Chestnut Street offers a homelike environment in the heart of University City.
Conveniently located near several pediatric hospitals, including The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, our Chestnut Street location provides a temporary residence to families with the comforts of home while also offering the support of staff and volunteers.
The Chestnut Street House is located in a historic building that was expanded in 1995 and again in 2019 with the addition of the Jill and Alan B. Miller Tower. This House serves a total of 127 families per night.
Chestnut Street also offers the following amenities to all who stay at the House:
- 8 patient-protected guest suites and 96 standard guest bedrooms – 12 with wheelchair accessible bathrooms
- Large kitchen and dining area
- Full stocked pantry and complimentary beverages available 24 hours a day
- Delicious dinners cooked every night and served at 6:00 pm by our volunteer Guest Chef groups
- Breakfast cooked and served on the weekends by our volunteer Guest Chef groups
- Living room and lounges
- Laundry facilities
- Children’s play areas
- Wireless Internet access and computer areas
- Peaceful outdoor serenity garden
- Van shuttle service to and from hospitals
- Social Workers available on-site
The Chestnut Street House is currently undergoing an expansion that will add a rooftop garden, outdoor dining area, theater and activity center, arts and education area, exercise room, and additional play areas.
Front & Erie House Amenities
The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House at Front & Erie offers a homelike environment in North Philadelphia.
Conveniently located next to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, our Front & Erie location provides a temporary residence to families with the comforts of home while also offering the support of staff and volunteers.
Opened in 2008, the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House at Front & Erie offers a homelike environment for 20 families a night.
Front & Erie also offers the following amenities to all who stay at the House:
- 20 private, comfortable guest bedrooms – 13 with private standard bathrooms and 7 with wheelchair accessible bathrooms
- Large kitchen and dining area
- Full stocked pantry and complimentary beverages available 24 hours a day
- Delicious dinners cooked every night and served at 6:00 pm by our volunteer Guest Chef groups
- Breakfast cooked and served on the weekends by our volunteer Guest Chef groups
- Laundry facilities
- Living room with television
- Children’s play areas
- Wireless internet access and computer areas
- Exercise room
- State of the art home theater room
- Video game center
