Childhood Cancer Survivor Gives Back

We would like to introduce you to Jamie Litzner. Jamie’s journey with us began back in 1985 when she was just 15 months old. After being diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma, she was treated by our co-founder and pediatric oncologist, Dr. Audrey Evans.  Though Jamie didn’t stay at the House, she says she feels like she wants to give back to the woman who saved her life and this was the best way she knows how.

“It’s wild to think that the woman who treated me also started this House, and now there’s over 380 around the world. I am so grateful for the care I received from Dr. Evans, as I’m sure thousands of other people out there are, too.

For the last several months Jamie has been running the front desk at our Front and Erie House once a week. Jamie’s selfless dedication speaks volumes about the impact of kindness and the power of giving back. As she puts it,” I wanted to thank Doctor Evans, and this is my way of saying thanks.”
