Introducing the Education Program at RMHC Philly

Among the many things we now provide our families, education for our children receiving treatment and their siblings that have been pulled out of their schools to travel with their families is crucial. Sally Rusk communicates with the child’s home schools and teachers so they can learn their curriculum while they stay with us.

Since December, the Education Program at RMHC Philly has provided over 170 hours of tutoring to 14 students between the ages of 6-13. Out of these 14 students, half of their siblings also participated in the program.

“The volunteer tutors and I have found that the students we have connected with crave school and enjoy our time together as much as we do,” says Rusk

Aside from tutoring, Sally leads special programs such as Science Fridays, for children to get together in small groups at one time.

We are proud to be able to offer this type of educational service for our families while they are staying at the house.
